Anglican Development Services-Mt. Kenya East (ADS-MKE), the development arm of the Anglican Church of Kenya, works across five dioceses in the Mt. Kenya East region. Their mission is to empower communities spiritually, socially, and economically for a wholesome and dignified life within a healthy environment. ADS-MKE is currently seeking two dedicated Project Officers to support their TB and lung disease management project. One position will be based at their Headquarters in Kirinyaga, and the other at their Mayori Office in Embu County.

ADS-MKE is looking for two skilled and passionate Project Officers to lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of their TB and lung disease management project in Kirinyaga and Embu Counties.

Job Summary

The Project Officers will be responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities related to TB and lung disease management. They will coordinate with various stakeholders, including the County Health Departments in Kirinyaga and Embu, to ensure patient-centric interventions and achieve impactful healthcare outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities to meet goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure patient-centric interventions across the care continuum.
  • Help expand treatment sites and optimize services through quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support the use of innovative technologies, screening tools, and digital reporting systems for TB care.
  • Facilitate the integration of TB services into community health programs, advocating for their inclusion in Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
  • Tailor interventions to local epidemics based on surveys and strengthen healthcare systems.
  • Empower communities through monitoring, advocacy, and addressing social determinants of TB.

Qualifications/Special Skills

  • Educational Background: A Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Health Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in managing or implementing health projects, with a preference for TB and lung disease programs.
    • Hands-on experience in patient care, public health interventions, or community-based healthcare programs.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in health reporting systems and clinical screening tools.
    • Familiarity with TB care protocols and treatment regimens.
  • Behavioral and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.
