Job Summary
The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation and linkage between service delivery and demand generation, while maintaining quality of care in the ASRH project activities within assigned pharmacies and health facilities in Bungoma and Trans-Nzoia Counties. This role involves providing day-to-day guidance, technical assistance, monitoring project activities, integrating content in stakeholder engagements, and ensuring appropriate documentation.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Health Systems:
- Monitor continued service provision of Reproductive Health services at supported pharmacies and health facilities, documenting the same.
- Liaise with other Team Leads on technical issues arising from Pharmacies, health facilities, and the community for follow-up and monitoring.
- Link providers and clinical mentors/program support team members as needed to ensure Quality Assurance.
- Support the implementation of quality-of-care checks and address emerging issues.
- Monitor the availability of commodities and liaise with technical advisors and commodity focal persons to resolve gaps.
2. Community Access Support:
- Liaise with technical advisors on technical issues from communities and health facilities for follow-up, action, and monitoring.
- Provide linkage between demand generation and service delivery in collaboration with community advisors.
3. Project Monitoring:
- Collect service provision data from Pharmacies and transmit it using appropriate reporting tools and systems.
- Submit monthly reports and a calendar of activities to supervisors.
- Identify success stories within pharmacies and health facilities and liaise with relevant technical focal persons for documentation.
4. Administrative:
- Facilitate and represent KMET in county-level engagements with respective multi-sectoral stakeholders.
- Coordinate the preparation of Project meetings and training with Pharmacies and Health facilities at the County level.
- Accurately report work assignments on a monthly, Quarterly, and Annual basis and on DMIS platforms for Quality-of-Care.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience
- Degree/Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Pharm-tech, Reproductive Health, or any other medical-related field.
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience in Healthcare Workers capacity strengthening, community mobilization, and training community groups for the uptake of ASRH services.
- Experience working in adolescent reproductive health programs, especially with a focus on ASRHR.
- Experience in improving clinical quality through supportive supervision.
- Excellent event planning/coordination and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate in the local dialect and willingness to reside in the project implementation site.
- Ability to travel by road frequently (with a valid driving license).
