Job Summary
The CPA Trainer will be responsible for teaching and facilitating learning for CPA students through various methods, participating in assessment development and marking, contributing to academic policies, developing learning materials, providing student support, and engaging in research and departmental activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach and facilitate learning through lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials, and other learning situations as assigned.
- Participate in the development, administration, and marking of exams, assignments, and continuous assessment tests.
- Participate in the development and implementation of academic policies, guiding principles, objectives, and functions in accordance with the College's vision.
- Assist in the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work, and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance.
- Provide advice, guidance, and feedback to students to support their professional progress and refer students to support services as appropriate.
- Participate in the supervision and assisting of students in their coursework.
- Participate in writing research proposals and applying for research grants in relevant course areas.
- Contribute and participate in the development of departmental seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Provide mentorship to students through academic advising and counseling.
- Contribute to departmental, faculty, and/or College-wide working groups or committees as requested.
- Undertake continuous professional development and participate in staff development and training activities to update and enhance skills.
- Maintain proper records of students’ examinations, assignments, and continuous assessment tests and ensure timely data entry into the examination records management system.
Qualifications
- MBA/MSc/MA degree in a relevant field (e.g., Accounting, Finance).
- Proven experience of 3 years in teaching CPA courses.
- Strong knowledge of CPA curriculum and examination standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to facilitate learning effectively through various teaching methods.
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills.
- Commitment to student mentorship and academic support.
- Engagement in research and professional development.
