Job Summary
The Senior Technical Advisor, Tuberculosis will provide technical leadership and coordination for Tuberculosis (TB) initiatives, engage with stakeholders, and lead capacity-building efforts to ensure the achievement of deliverables for TB grants.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to achieve quality programmatic and financial sustained outcomes and targets.
- Mentor, support, supervise, and manage the Global Fund TB technical staff and AICS TB Project Associate.
- Lead efforts to develop the capacity of CSOs to implement, monitor, and report on grants.
- Provide strategic and technical input in the preparation of annual work plans and progress reports.
- Support the Ministry of Health in developing, reviewing, and implementing policies and guidelines for TB diagnosis and management.
- Provide technical and programmatic guidance in the development and writing of new concepts and proposals for fundraising.
- Catalyze linkages with the Government of Kenya, donors, and other key stakeholders by representing Amref as a TB subject matter expert.
- Coordinate and participate in the design, planning, and implementation of Global Fund TB and AICS Italy project technical grant activities and strategies.
- Work closely with the National TB Program to ensure grant activities align with national strategies and guidelines.
- Liaise with national and county-level government officials and technical partners in planning joint activities.
- Work closely with the Amref and Global Fund TB Monitoring and Evaluation teams to strengthen existing M&E systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Clinical Medicine.
- Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience in a busy NGO working in health programming, preferably in the TB and HIV/AIDS field.
- Hands-on experience in project coordination, monitoring, reporting, and documentation.
- Experience in the implementation of community-based activities and working with sub-grantees.
- Experience working with government departments and other key stakeholders.
