Job Summary
The Locum Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to all patients, participating in ward activities, administering treatments, and ensuring adherence to healthcare protocols.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing services to all patients to assist them in regaining good health.
- Participate in ward rounds and writing Ward Reports.
- Prepare specific ward reports and submit them timely.
- Carry out nursing care plans.
- Maintain Intravenous (IV) fluids.
- Carry out blood transfusions.
- Monitor and deliver mothers in labor, receiving and resuscitating babies.
- Order and administer drugs.
- Assist in the theatre.
- Recruit new clients for MCH/FP and give health talks & training to patients & clients.
- Provide Family Planning services and Child Welfare Clinics.
- Counsel patients.
- Follow and maintain antiseptic techniques and ensure infection prevention SOPs are followed.
- Perform instrument cleaning/sluicing and sterilization/autoclaving.
- Clean and dress wounds, and remove stitches.
- Write down patients' diets and ensure they are followed.
- Nurse patients on transit to referral hospitals and ensure proper admission procedures.
- Carry out preventive medicine from time to time.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN).
- Must be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya with a valid license.
- Minimum two years of working experience in a related field.
