Job Summary
Bristol Park Hospital is seeking a Community Oral Health Officer to perform dental procedures, provide dental health education, and ensure the efficient operation of the dental unit. This role involves maintaining a sterile environment, managing inventory, and providing quality dental care to patients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform authorized dental procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque, replacing missing teeth, filling cavities, rebuilding broken teeth, and removing severely damaged teeth.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and tray setups for dental procedures.
- Conduct dental health education for patients.
- Offer counseling to patients who require reassurance.
- Manage inventory of equipment and supplies at the dental unit, including preparing orders as needed.
- Implement and adhere to infection prevention protocols, including autoclaving instruments and cleaning the dental procedure space.
- Analyze x-rays and evaluate dental needs, including medical history review and dental charting.
- Treat and help prevent gum disease.
- Provide instruction on dental care and write prescriptions for patients.
- Maintain dental files for all patients.
- Write weekly and monthly reports.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Community Oral Health.
- Valid Practicing License.
- Registered by the Oral Health Association of Kenya.
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience as a Community Oral Health Officer (COHO).
- Excellent computer skills.
