Job Summary

The Community Oral Health Officer will be responsible for providing dental treatment and hygiene to prevent dental decay within the community. This role involves examining, treating, and cleaning patients' teeth, as well as providing education on oral health care. The Community Oral Health Officer will play a crucial role in promoting oral health awareness and improving access to dental services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and carry out dental health education programs for the community and MFK partners.
  • Conduct surveys within the community to determine oral health status and needs, and report findings to management and relevant bodies.
  • Perform simple dental treatments such as tooth cleaning, fluoride application, temporary fillings, and extractions.
  • Maintain patient records, track oral health trends, and analyze data to identify areas of concern.
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to promote overall health and well-being.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma in Community Oral Health.
  • 2 years of experience as a COHO in a health facility, preferably in a rural setting.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Valid Practicing License (where applicable).
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills.
  • Mature, friendly, confident, and caring nature.
