Job Summary

The Clinical Officer will be responsible for providing essential medical services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients at ASN Upendo Village Dispensary. This role involves conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting investigations, and offering health education to patients and the community. The Clinical Officer will also ensure proper documentation and provide emergency response when needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct history taking and physical examinations of patients/clients.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage patients effectively.
  • Counsel clients on compliance to treatment regimens.
  • Order investigations on patients and interpret the results accurately.
  • Offer health education to both patients and the community.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation of all patient information.
  • Recommend appropriate referral services when necessary.
  • Respond to any medical emergency swiftly and efficiently.
  • Work in the CCC clinic and follow up on ART clients.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery from Kenya Medical Training College or any recognized institution.
  • Holder of a valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council.
  • At least 3 to 5 years' work experience in a busy health facility.
  • Good report writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse workforce (team player).
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Word and Excel) and use of Hospital Information Management Systems.
  • Good knowledge in the professional field of specialization.
