Job Summary
The Accident & Emergency Nurse will be responsible for promoting and maintaining competent and professional standards of emergency and urgent nursing care within the Outpatient Department, ensuring quality clinical service and positive customer relations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and reassessments of patients to identify their care needs.
- Utilize the hospital’s quality nursing processes in planning and executing care for patients/clients.
- Develop written care plans based on patients’ needs and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
- Carry out hemodynamic monitoring, including vital signs, neurological and fluid status, labs, and radiological evaluations.
- Document all assessment data, investigation results, care provided, discussions with the multidisciplinary team, and family/patient interactions accurately and promptly.
- Administer medication safely, monitor patient responses, and promptly report adverse reactions.
- Participate in unit-based nursing education (CNE), quality improvement (QI) projects, audits, spot checks, and skill checks.
- Adhere to the hospital’s Prevention and Control of Infections practices.
- Participate in mortality and morbidity meetings to ensure improved and safe practice.
- Be accountable for the judicious and efficient use of resources, including accurate and timely billing of ward stock drugs and consumables.

Qualifications & Requirements
- KRCHN/BSc Nursing from a recognized School of Nursing or University.
- At least five (5) years of clinical working experience in an acute care hospital or busy clinical setup.
- Excellent customer care and critical thinking skills.
- Certification in ACLS is a MUST.
- Certification in EPLS (Preferred).
- Ability to work with diverse groups and demonstrated commitment to advancing workplace diversity & inclusivity.
