Job Overview
South Rift hospital is seeking to recruit a competent Community Oral Health Officer to help the facility achieve it's goal to offer high class healthcare services to it's esteemed clients. The Community Oral Health Officer will be technically reporting to the immediate supervisor upon recruitment.
Duties And Responsibilities.
Successful candidate will be tasked with the following roles:
- Provide quality healthcare services to the clients of South Rift hospital.
- Eloquently serve the clients with discipline.
- Examine patients' teeth and mouth.
- Assess dental condition and needs of patients using patient screening and monitoring procedures.
- Analyze x-rays and evaluate dental needs as necessary including medical history review and dental charting.
- Take, develop and mount radiographs as well as trace radiographs required for corrective treatment.
- Undertake general treatment and care for teeth and tissue problems using specified equipment and tools.
- Fill in cavities, rebuild broken teeth, replace missing teeth, and remove unnecessary or severely damaged teeth.
- Provide instruction on dental care and write prescriptions for patients.
- Inventory management of equipment and supplies at the dental unit.
- Maintain a record of day-to-day activities of the dental unit.
- Treat and help prevent gum disease.
- Give recommendations to the supervisor on areas of improvement.
- Report any issues to the departmental head.
- Participate and contribute to any continuous medical education sessions.
Qualifications
Successful candidates should meet the following.
- Diploma/Degree in Community Oral Health.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a busy hospital.
- Registered as a Community Oral Health Officer with the regulatory body.
- Valid Practicing License.
- Analytical and inquisitive, with excellent attention to detail.
- Able and willing to work outside normal hours when necessary.
