Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible in providing high quality healthcare services for the MKU students as well as teaching and non teaching staff. The candidate will be technically reporting to the director Nairobi Campus.
Duties And Responsibilities
Successful candidate will be tasked with the following:
- Examine, diagnose and treat common diseases at the university health facility.
- Offer guidance to the clients on health issues
- Promote and sensitize clients on preventive health matters.
- Perform minor surgical procedures as per training skills.
- Accurately collect and compile clinical data
- Effectively attend to patient filter clinics at the health facilities
- Effectively supervise junior healthcare workers ta th university health facility.
- Perform any other assigned duty by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications

- A minimum of bachelors degree in clinical medicine or related field of specialization from a recognized medical institution.
- Registration certificate from clinical officers council.

Job Overview
Mount Kenya University is seeking to recruit a competent and qualified individual to fit in the position of a Skills Laboratory Nurse. The successful candidate will be technically reporting to the Dean school of nursing.
Duties And Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be tasked with the following:
- Assist the chief technologist in day to day activities of the laboratory.
- Provide support and assessments of nursing discipline at an undergraduate level.
- Supervise practical conduction technologist and ensuring discipline at undergraduate level
- Liaising with the directorate of teaching programs and relevant departments to ensure that practical conduction and their monitoring is done.
- Liaising with academic staff to discuss timetables, equipment requirements and work plans
- Effectively running trials of experiments prior to practical sessions and then demonstrating techniques for experiments.
- Preparing equipment and chemicals before practical sessions.
- Maintaining and be the custodian of the laboratory apparatus in the assigned laboratory.
- Reporting failure of equipments to the chief technologist.
- Recording keeping of students practical sessions, tracking methods, results etc.
- Ensuring and effectively Cleaning the laboratories and store chemicals and drugs properly.
- Maintaining a catalogue and making them when requested.
- Supporting lecturers during laboratory sessions and giving technical advice to staff an respective students.
- Ensuring that all health and safety and procedures are understood and followed correctly.
- Effectively coordinate work in the laboratory.
- Maintaining laboratory safety and quality assurance
- Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures of the laboratory and laboratory equipments.
- Maintaining a clean area with accordance with standard laboratory practices.
- Keeping time with technical advancements especially those that save time and improve reality.
- Perform and any other duty as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registration certificate Nursing council of Kenya.
- Minimum of 2 year's experience at a comparable position.
- Computer Proficiency.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
