Procurement Assistant, G6 Nairobi.

WHO Programme  for Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Response is looking for a Procurement assistant to fill in the position and help WHO continue with it's work in achieving goals. 
The Procurement Assistant he or she will simply be responsible for day to day activities related to procurement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience obtaining general services and items in the medical area.  
  • Experience with transactional procurement, including requirements definition, sourcing, vendor selection, and award.
  • Help with the drafting of tender documents, making sure that they adhere to WHO guidelines, including invitations to tender, requests for quotations, requests for proposals, and expressions of interest.
  • Utilize the Global Management System (GSM) to carry out the Order Administrator role, which includes generating Purchase Requisitions and converting Request for Pricing Estimates (RPEs).
  • Help with the preparation of several contracts, correspondence, guidelines, instructions, and other papers pertaining to procurement.
  • Update the status and keep in touch with internal and external stakeholders on procurement and logistics duties, such as the Regional Procurement Office, the Global Service Center (GSC), Technical Officers, and other partners.
  • Make certain that invoices for products and services delivered via the WHO payment system are verified, certified, and processed.
  • Monitor due dates and deadlines with tracking tools, making sure that emails and questions are answered on time.
  • Carry out any additional tasks that are allocated.

Qualifications:

  • Technical or University courses related to business administration, procurement, contract/commercial law, or another relevant technical field.
  • A KCSE Certificate.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in Procurement field.
  • Previous experience working with UN is an added advantage.

  • Experience in using ERP system.
  • Meticulous and attentive to details.
  • Someone of sound judgment and integrity.
  • Profiency in Computer Applications.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Suite.
  • Fluent in English

Salary Offer

  • WHO offers a very competitive salary for the position, offering an annual base salary for the start at Ksh 3,123,710 which may be subjected to statutory deductions.
