Job Description
SCION Hospital is seeking to recruit a competent nurse to serve as the head of nursing department. The head of department will be responsible in overseeing on the day to day activities of the hospital basically in the Nursing department.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelors degree in Nursing
Valid Practicing License
Registration certificate from Nursing council of Kenya
Minimum of 4 years experience with Atleast 2 serving in a supervisory role.
Certificate in computer applications
Skills:

Decision making skills
Knowledgable on Electronic medical record (EMR)
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide strong leadership to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Develop and implement nursing policies. Standard Operating procedures, and best practices to ensure high standards of patient care.
Manage nursing staff recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
Lead and participate in departmental meetings
Oversee the delivery of patient care, ensuring it meets the hospital's standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements as necessary.
Ensure the appropriate allocation of nursing resources and staff scheduling.
Address and resolve any clinical issues or patient concerns promptly.
Develop and implement operation plans for the nursing department aligned with the hospital's goals and objectives.
Collaborate with hospital administration and other departments to enhance service delivery and patient care.
Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in nursing practices and services.
Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
Conduct regular audits and assessments of nursing practices and patient care standards. Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
Develop and manage the nursing department budget.
Ensure the efficient use of resources while maintaining high standards of care.
Promote patient-centered care and ensure that patients and their families are informed and involved in care decisions.
Address patient and family concerns and work to improve the patient experience.
